Poop up the back

It is funny. Before Danica was born I was scared of poop. A mere mention of poop at the dinner table was a no no. But now I change Danica 3-6 times a day. So far I have seen my share of poop in varying degrees of firmness and smell. When she was first born it was a seedy, scentless dream. It cleaned up easy and was fairly nice to me. As the months passed it got worse. I had many poop up the back diapers. If you don't know what a poop up the back diaper is I will tell you. Danica always has a onezee on on top of her diaper. A poop up the back diaper is when the poop comes out of the back of the diaper and rests in her onezee.

So there she is laying there with poop all over the place. Poop in the normal spots, on her legs, and especially up her back. So once the diaper is off you are left with a lot of poop. The first time this happened I was in a panic.... because she certainly can't leave her hands above when so much is happening below. She gets poop on her hands and now she grabs something... her blanket, her furry dog toy, and the poop has spread all over the place!! What can you do??!!!

The first time this happened to me I was shell-shocked. I honestly had no idea how to resolve the situation. I finally lifted her up, brought her to the shower, and rinsed her off. I threw out her onezee and the cloth diaper we use above her changing pad. I cleaned her off and was able to change her.

The next time it happened I was able to smell it before I took of her diaper and onezee. The poop has a more intense smell one it has breached the confines of the diaper. I began to understand when she pooped beyond the reaches of her huggies. This gave me a distinct advantage when I went to change her. My first step was to take her outer clothes off. Then all that was left was her diaper and her poop stained onezee.

How do you get a pooped infested onezee of an infant? Well if you watched the WWF like I did in the 80's you pull a Hulk Hogan. I literally tore the onezee off her in a way that the poop did not spread itself. Once the onezee was off I cleaned her and then went after the faulty diaper. After 4-5 poop up the backs I was a pro. Of course we went through a decent number of onezee's. But I didn't mind. We finally switched to diapers that were a little big for her and the problem has yet to resurface.
