I love watching Danica crawl. She started slowly around the first week of December and now moves around with ease. I hide behind a toy or a box, then i peak my head out at her. She sees me and a big grin appears on her face. She thrusts herself into crawl overdrive and tries to get to me before I crawl away. Being mobile has advantages for her. She learns more and is more active. It should lead to better sleep for her but that has not happened just yet. I was never in a rush for her to crawl or become mobile. I always thought that moving around would equal more chances for her to get hurt. So far that hasn't happened either.

Our doctor said it would be ok if she crawled around on our tile floors. Up until yesterday she only crawled on our carpet in the living room. It is plenty big but after a few weeks of crawling in there it must get a little boring. So yesterday I put two of our dogs outside and let her explore on our tile floors. I imagine her slipping and cracking her head on the hard tile, but the doctor said it is no big deal... most of the time. So she took off on the tile with an excited smile. The first thing she grabbed was one of the dog bowls. She moved it around on the floor for a few minutes and then continued onward.
My other concern is that the tile floors would be too hard for her knees... and when you hear her crawl it undoubtedly sounds like it. So I would like to limit the time she crawls on the tile floor. I'm sure soon enough she will be walking and I'll be worried about her cracking her head on the tile floor from a higher elevation.... and then she'll be going to school and I'll worry about her then... and then she'll get a boyfriend and I'll have to lock her in the house until she's 60...
I guess having a child is constant worry. The big problem is I always worry, even when there is nothing to worry about!
