What I have learned from Danica, and likely what everyone learns from their child, is that they are great actors/actresses. Even though she can't talk she manages to get her point across, even if it means doing something that she really does not need to do.
For instance I put her down in her crib about 30 minutes ago. She was very annoyed and at first cried. Then she just kept making noises, mostly whining noises. Finally she started to get really upset... at least on the outside. I have a tough time letting her cry too long, which I am sure she knows. I ran in and grabbed her and she instantaneously transformed into happy baby. She even burst out in laughter. I put her back down and she cried again. Finally I said aloud "You want to stay up... go ahead!". Of Course she does not know what I said but she knows what i meant. She won. She seems to win a lot.
She will also pretend to cough when she is in her crib. I listen for a bit then the daddy in me takes over. "What if she is really choking on something?" I run in to find her sitting up and looking right at me as if she knew I was going to run in there that instant.
She might truly turn into an actress someday... maybe hook daddy up with some cash so he can retire early, but even if she doesn't make it big... I'll always be her biggest fan.
