On January 23rd Danica said "da da". She was not looking at me but just said a crystal clear "da da" for no other reason than because she can. We were at the doctors office and Danica's pediatrician was giving us some talk about something when Danica, out of no where, said "da da". The doctor asked if that was the first time she said that and I said yes. It was kind of a surreal moment.
She is really starting to talk more. Nothing that you can understand, but sometimes if you say "mmmm" while she's eating she will go "mmmmm". Allie likes to get her to say "meow" or "ruff" which she tries to do. She does a cute "meow".
It will only be a matter of time before she starts talking back to me, but until then I really enjoy listening to all the sounds she makes. We were reading a book yesterday and she points at an animal in the book and does a loud and quick "hmm" while pointing. She does it over and over and it makes me laugh.
I think the first word that she will say and know why she is saying it is "ma ma". I'm working on getting her to point and "ma ma" when she gets home from work and say "ma ma". She gets so excited when mom gets home that I think it will be easy for her. I give it a week before she says "ma ma". Until she really gets talking I'll just soak in all the noises she makes. There is nothing she can say right now that won't make me happy... and I should probably savor that!
