The Food Network

I used to love Rachel Ray and her EVOO... but I can't take her anymore. You can only hear "this smells amazing" so many times. Now she's smattered all over the place... her own magazine, her own talk show. I just can't escape!

Now her toothy female counter part is sure to be next in line. Her constant utterance of pancetta is worse than someone scraping on the blackboard. She can't say pancetta like any other human. She's got to accent it and show her enormous dental assets at the same time. I mean those teeth are gigantic. Do they do that on purpose? Is big teeth in the food industry like a big you-know-what in the porn industry? I wonder if after each taping she pulls off her enormous fake teeth to reveal a set of the tiniest teeth in the industry. Either way I can't take it anymore! But somehow I watch when I can. So they must be doing something right.

Alton Brown and Bobby Flay used to be on my list too but I like them both now. At least they speak like normal people. Pancetta...Pancetta... turn on the Food Network one day and you will know what I mean.

I figured I'd throw in my own little Food Network Episode here but I'll be brief. I've been cooking since Allie and I got together because she always gets home after me. It has always made sense for me to cook and I like it. especially since Allie likes everything I cook (she's not too picky or I cook good I still am not 100% sure).
So here is one of the first good recipes I cooked for Allie. She loves Penne alla Vodka. It's real easy to make and we always freeze the leftovers for another rainy day. You can even add some PANCETTA to spice it up.

2 cans of crushed tomatoes
1 diced onion
1 pint of heavy cream
1 stick of butter
1 cup of vodka

Saute the onions in melted butter until they are soft.
Add vodka and cook until it evaporates
Add crushed tomatoes and cook for 20 minutes
Add cream, stir and cook for 10 more minutes

And BAM you've got a pretty good Vodka sauce. Sink your teeth into that one.

BTW Danica is doing very well. She slept through the night!
