A Leaky Tub

I recently read somewhere that the market for baby supplies and gadgets is booming. We went through Babies R Us this past weekend and you can just see how much stuff is really out there.
When we were young our parents didn't need the help of a sleep positioner, or a color video monitor, or a $25 electric bottle warmer to raise us and keep us alive. They let us sleep on our stomach's, warmed our bottles in hot water, and came in the room when we they heard us crying. Which brings me to our high tech collapsable tub for Danica. It is a gadget that you don't need and it is an expensive piece of garbage.
Last night I bathed Danica for the very first time. I always let Allie do it, because she is good at it and because I get to spend twice as much time with Danica, but I could tell Allie needed a break so I did it.
The tub we use for her is a collapsable one that is supposed to save room, but instead the seal is bad and the water empties out of it after 5-10 minutes. I was not aware of this and when I heard water running into the drain I thought nothing of it. When the water level in Danica's collapsable tub was down significantly from when she first got it in I figured out that it was leaking. I had to keep putting water in the tub that was not too cold or too hot. What a pain.
The collapsable tub seems like a great idea. SAve room when your not bathing, but really all we need is a plastic bin to put her in. That way it only leaks when it gets a hole in it. Also the collapsable one has parts you can't clean and it gets dirty.
So the above picture is Danica and I at Wal-Mart this morning looking for a new tub. They only had one collapsable one left and no plain old tubs in stock. Guess we'll be heading back to Babies R Us this weekend.
