Emily Migdalia - 6 pounds 12 ounces 19 3/4 inches long

Allie sent me to work last night. She said why take a day off now when I will likely need to take days off later. I was on the east side of Manhattan when she called me a full 30 minutes into my night.
"I think you should come home" and I could hear the apprehension in her voice. I turned around and was in my car at close to 12AM. Of course the Lincoln Tunnel was undergoing a closure in a tube that normally wasn't closed, so traffic was a mess. Luckily I knew an entrance that was much better, but it still took me time to get there. When I was 10 minutes from home Allie called to see how close I was.
"We are going to head to the hospital right when you get here", she said. I guess I won't have a chance to change out of my work clothes, I thought to myself. I got home and a few minutes later we were on our way.
Allie was feeling something all day. I had a gut feeling that we were closer than she thought. But what do I know? Apparently at 11PM everything started coming quicker and with more pain. Within an hour - from 11PM to 12PM - the contractions went from 15 minutes apart to 3 minutes. Driving her to the hospital was no treat. I have a difficult time relaxing under normal circumstances, but now I was in rare form.
The route to the hospital is normally clogged during the morning rush so I was grateful that I did not have to endure that and I was also exceeding the speed limit by more than I ever have. I was fully expecting to see flashing light behind me.
After a twenty minute ride we were in the hospital. Allie was sitting in a wheel chair enduring more pain. We waited 15 minutes for a room and as each minute ticked by Allie and I thought, if she doesn't get her shot soon she is not going to be happy. (to be continued heading to hospital)

Congratulations! I figured something was going on when I saw no posts. Emily is just so beautiful! Surprised it was another girl?

Thanks Jenna. When she came out I said it was a boy!! I was so happy. Two seconds later the doctor said "It is a girl!" I am still happy but a little disappointed!
